What 'The Peephole Journal' is all about, you ask? It is about you!

The Peephole Journal, which started out as The Peephole Magazine, stands today as a montage of changing perception. Here as the inner circle of The Peephole Journal we are privy to the influx of ideas, beliefs, convictions, myths and ethos of the society as a whole.

The Peephole Journal came up with its maiden issue only less than two years ago. The objective has always been simple. It is strictly not a forum for talented budding writers, photographers, poets and artists, rather it stands for minds which are inquisitive, troubled, excited, concerned and raring to put their opinions out there for the world to see.

The Peephole Journal is now an annual journal. Even though it is only three issues old, we can already see the issues, problems, virtues and vices in our immediate society come through in the writing, sketches, cover pages and poems. We are expecting our fourth issue very soon. To our friends we would like to confess that this journey has been memorable because we feel your presence in all our endeavors. Thanks!

The world celebrates every new year as a new beginning. The Peephole Magazine is reminded of the celebrated lines of T.S. Eliot which lures us into the endless dilemma-is it a new beginning, or a new end?

All this was a long time ago, I remember,
And I would do it again, but set down
This set down
This: were we lead all that way for
Birth or Death? There was a Birth, certainly,
We had evidence and no doubt. I have seen birth and death,
But had thought they were different; this Birth was
Hard and bitter agony for us, like Death, our death.

Here's wishing a very happy new year 2014 to all the members of The Peephole Page. May God Bless!

Christmas Trivia

One-off gestures of empathy and concern can often snowball into traditions, which in turn get practiced for centuries to become legends. Santa Claus seems like a glaring example of such a phenom. St. Nicholas, who now goes by the name Santa Claus was originally a austere-looking monk well-known for his generosity. He wished to help a poor soul in need and dropped a bag of riches down the chimney which fortuitously landed inside a tattered stocking that was hung to dry. Here were are in 2013, celebrating this happy anecdote and Santa who was originally known to be a lean bloke with a grave look is now described as a jovial and heavyset soul in popular culture!
